The Design and Installation Process – Premier Timber Systems

Here at Premier Timber Systems, we aim to provide a quality product and service and build relationships and help our clients in every way we can, working closely to ensure that the completed project meets all your requirements.

Initial Enquiry

All we require are some initial architectural drawings for our design team to provide a quote for your project, the more information that can be provided will help us give a more accurate quote. Dimensioned plans, sections and elevations would be perfect however other specifications are welcomed. We will then submit an itemised quote for your project.

Pre-Design Stage

At this stage specifications will be confirmed, and our engineers will issue line and point loads to be checked with the clients foundation provider. Our design team will start issuing initial approval drawings to be checked by the client and their architect, these will typically include soleplate layouts, wall panel positions and section through drawings. Our site team will then arrange a site visit and go through all you need to know for example Scaffold Requirements, Crane Positions and site access required.

Design Stage

Our design team will then produce construction drawings incorporating any comments received from the client/architect as well as marked up drawings received from our engineer with specifications in regards to items such as stud centres, lintel depth, sheathing nailing and extra elements that may be required for the build. Completed construction drawings will typically consist of the soleplate layout with fixing details, wall panel layouts showing stud positions, floor cassette drawings which include stairwell openings, roof drawings showing roof truss layout positions, bracing detailing/fixing details and finally sections showing storey heights, window and door opening heights, cavity barrier detailing and other relevant details for the project.

Manufacturing Process

Once the drawings have been finalised and approved, they will be sent through to our CNC saw and each individual panel will be accurately cut. These will then be framed, sheathed, and fitted with the specified breather membrane by our skilled operatives. This process will also take place if you have chosen floor cassettes for your project.

The Erection

Following a visit from our site team confirming all aspects for a safe and smooth erection, a highly qualified skilled team will be appointed to your project. This team will carry all relevant up to date CSCS cards along with a lift supervisor and banksman/slinger to carry out all crane lifting requirements.
